Objectologists refer to the 21st-century as the Age of Plastic because of the material’s presence in the geological layer of this period. Plastic is pervasive throughout the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen excavation site. The amount of plastic appears deliberate. Our ancestors encased objects in the material with care and precision.
